So I have bad teeth. Like it’s actually a low-key insecurity of mine. My teeth constantly look like they have dirt in them (only seen from up close so don’t look too close next time you see my please) and I’m terrified of visiting a dentist because I just know he/she will be verifying me how terrible they really are and pointing out the many cavities I most likely have.
Anyway the point is I’ve become accustomed to the fact that pearly whites are not in the cards for me 😂 And hence whenever there’s a bit of dirt in and around my teeth that even my most ardent brushing technique can’t take off I tell myself – ‘okey dokey Tolz it’s like you’ll smile less today.’ Another thing that holds me back is the fact that I have very VERY sensitive gums like the kind that immediately bleed once a lil bristle from my toothbrush should touch it the wrong way. They mad annoying can’t lie but #FearfullyAndWonderfullyMade and that 🤙🏾
The point to this is I would’ve never imagined for some of the dirt that was kept lodged in between two of my upper teeth would ever come out..but it did. Like I was so fricking mind blown I had to write this blog post. Because as it happened, as I watched that lil piece of dirt fall out after I slowly and carefully attempted to brush it out – not vexing after 1 second of doing it like I usually do or accepting my fate of ‘dirty teeth’ – the Holy Spirit laid a word upon my heart.
“There is no debris too permanent that I can’t take away.”
I know we all hear and maybe marvel in the moment at the idea that Jesus Christ’s death has made us ‘white as snow.’ But do we actually deep it guys? I know I didn’t. In that moment I was able to witness how we can become accustomed to our pain and accustomed to our darkness and sin that we forget it’s there and we forget there’s a saviour who can and has already cleared it up.
“Because love covers a multitude of sins” – 1 Peter 4:8 NIV
The love of God so perfectly shown through the death of Christ on that cross has saved us from our sins. Our sins that the Bible confirms ultimately leads to death (Romans 6:23) – physically, mentally, spiritually in all spheres. A sinful life is a life of destitute that none of us, I repeat none of us are called to live.
So be encouraged knowing that there is never anything so horrific that you feel you’ve done that Christ has not already forgiven. Furthermore even if it’s the most sensitive topic & will cause pain when addressed (like my gums, LOL but fr though), He is willing to listen and is more than capable of taking that pain away
Though you’ve been searchin for such a long time,
Searchin for hope and some peace of mind,
There’s a friend who would step in on time
,He’ll take the pain away. He’ll take the pain away
– ‘He’ll Take The Pain Away’ by Kirk Franklin
All He requires of us is to come to Him:
“Come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden for I will give you rest.”
– Matthew 11:28 NASB
He requires us to let go of our shame, our guilt, our pride (because yes when we assume we can ‘save’ or ‘help’ ourselves , we are operating from a place of blatant pride) and
COME TO HIM.
That’s the first step and all other steps become clear in his presence.
Do not get used to your sin. Do not normalise a way of life that your spirit (which was fashioned in the image of God and therefore knows right from wrong without being prompted and knows when things don’t feel right) does not agree with.
Go to him.
Run to him.
Cry to him.
RIGHT NOW – He is waiting to hear from you and cannot wait to embrace you with his warmth & loving kindness.

Gospel Artist Artist.
Yes that felt good to say, I didn’t feel like I was betraying Beyoncé or Eminem. I’m slowly coming to terms with the fact that my music library has changed whether I like it or not and if you’re not blessing the name of Jesus then I ain’t finna listen no more 😌 (LMAO I say this yet last night I got mad gassed when ‘Crazy In Love’ was played at a Student Night Out – which reminds me , we’ll discuss my feelings towards clubbing & night outs at a later date, teehee #anticipate – but anyway point is the key word here is ‘slowly’ meaning the conviction has occurred but your girl has been struggling to accept it 🙃 pray for me pls, many thx)
Anyway, this song is the most beautiful example of what happens when you pour out your heart and soul to Christ. It’s so angelic and heavenly and basically speaks on what God says to us when He wants us to come home , when He wants us to abide in Him, when He wants us to confess our sins because
“he is faithful & just to forgive our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness.”
– 1 John 1:9
