“We are the clay, you are the potter, we are all the work of your hand” ~ Isaiah 64:8
God has placed this series in my heart for a while now. I won’t lie, I have experienced ‘writer’s block’ for a few months now. I’ve lacked the zeal to write. However, God has changed that. He’s opened my eyes to see that thus far in my walk with him and my 20 years of existence, I have battled with various things which remind me every single day that my journey with Christ is a continuous, ongoing relationship. It is not an opportunity to tick everything off my checklist and attain perfection – but rather it’s an opportunity to witness what true G R O W T H means and to allow God to mould me from inside out.
The series is titled: ‘The (In)Complete Clay’ simply because though I have become whole in Christ and have experienced a sense of self-love I could have never dreamed of experiencing without His input, I am still a work in progress. I still fall back, I still slide off and I still neglect His presence. And I find that I beat myself up SO much when this happens. But this shouldn’t be the case.
He loves us, SO much. And all he wants – literally the number 1 thing he’s after from us is our vulnerability, our sacrifice, our giving of our full selves – the good, the bad & the ugly so that He can work on the transformation and renewal aspect. So now, I run to Him. Whenever I have a negative thought or I listen to that music I know will be detrimental to me(don’t worry, we have a LOT to catch up on, trusss me!!) – He is always waiting with arms wide open. But at the same time, I cannot take his grace and mercy for granted.
“What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound?”
Therefore, this project is what He has laid upon my heart to do, so that I can gain healing where necessary as well as recognise that though His grace abounds I must take active steps to ensure I can receive it. I refuse to keep making the same mistakes but rather allow myself to be the clay – the dirty, ugly, shapeless clay and allow God – my potter to shape me from the inside out – creating something beautiful and astounding. Someone who is in the perfect place to receive all the blessings God has promised us.
So this series will be a comeback – if you will, an opportunity to share what has been on my mind because I’m finding moreso that when we are able to share our experiences, further growth occurs. God loves community. So I encourage you all to document your growth whenever you can, reflect on your experiences, and by all means through your engagement with this content – let me know if you can relate! Because I know how refreshing it can be to know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
So I pray you are blessed and God continues to fill you with that peace that transcends all understanding in every area of your life, AMEN.
PS: All posts from this series will appear as: #ICS and will be numbered accordingly.
With all my love,
