So even though I’ve lived here for about 5 years now I still identify myself as a Nigerian who just happens to be living in London. I can’t deny, I love my country and everything it has to offer but I can’t help the feeling that living in the UK for the past 5 years has left me somewhat detached from my roots.
But coming to Warwick has helped ease this mindset. I went for a talk on the Biafra War the other day and it’s never made me feel more inspired to learn more about everything to do with Nigeria – from our History, to our Art, to our Culture in general – it’s an honour to be a Nigerian because we have so many stories to tell and so much to offer.
OWN WHERE YOU’RE FROM. LOVE WHERE YOU’RE FROM.
Peace & Love,

I love this! When people go to Obodo Oyinbo, they often forget their roots and culture. It is often hard to continue to identify yourself with things that are distant but it must be done to preserve our sense of true belonging. Also, did you ever go to Lagoon?
So so valid ππ½ππ½ππ½ and yes! I was there from Js1-Js3! Best memories were made there meyhn ππ½
I guessed as much! π I did JS1 and JS2 there but I reckon I was your junior.
