Let's Write

‘I Can Do Bad All By Myself…’

“Be courageous to do what you’re passionate about and know instinctively you should be doing, because if you don’t, you’ll never have that achievement that you know is within you”

– Joy Mangano, American inventor, businesswoman and entrepreneur

I just had the pleasure of beginning my new year with watching one of the most inspiring movies, ‘Joy’ starring Jennfier Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and the one & only Robert De Niro (I swear I love seeing him in movies even if I’m not an avid follower of his work!).

Basically, a brief synopsis of the movie is that it follows the highs and lows of a woman named Joy Mangano as she endeavours to make her love for inventing a reality against the backdrop of a harsh business world.

I can’t express how much insight this movie  gave me. It birthed a sense of ethic within me and for some reason I feel so gingered and so fired up to do any and everything in my power to make my dreams a reality.
The most important thing I learnt from this movie (without giving too much away) is the value in educating yourself in whatever you aim to do. Although it is true that no man is an island, it is so so so SO important to understand things for YOURSELF and to take things into your own hands if need be, don’t place the weight of your dreams in anyone’s hands.

DO the research that’s necessary to take yourself to the next level.

DO the negotiating.

DO it because you can and don’t for one second allow anyone tell you, you can’t.

For the ladies out there, (though I’m a sucker for Disney fantasies) you most certainly don’t need a Prince to take you to that level.

For  the guys out there, you don’t need a specific macho persona to take you to that level.
All you need are your dreams, your ethic and above all..your prayers.

“For with God, nothing shall be impossible”

Luke 1:37

My thoughts are best expressed by writing.
So that's what I do - I write.

It's how I make sense of it all.
My prayer is that someone somewhere is blessed or is able to relate to what I write.

"Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them..." ~ Romans 12:6
